A few months ago, we enjoyed an amazing Youth Exchange in Madrid! The topic in question was street art.
KA1 BE ART! was a project that brought together 48 participants from eight different nationalities: Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Spain. We had a lot of fun and everyone learned a lot about street art. During the activities the participants had the opportunity to get to know each other very well and have become great friends!
With this project, we wanted to focus on the power of street art and how it can help young people (16-30 years old) to spread and communicate a social message, in order to build a creative space to promote an intercultural dialogue. At the same time, we wanted to promote the characteristics and use of street art among participants to help them communicate and express themselves through it.
The project was organized to improve social activism by using original tools to express ideas and opinions, so it led to the creation and promotion of a new public platform to improve dialogue among young people. In this way they can share European values in an international competition.
From an artistic point of view, they managed new artistic skills, learning more about street art and also improved standard artistic skills thanks to non-formal education methods .
We organized a series of activities, all related to the world of Art, which were carried out in a recreational environment, in open spaces and outdoors; all of them related to the non-formal education of young people.
